Play on, Towson.
That's the opinon of respondents to "It's Your Call," The Evening Sun's telephone survey on topical issues. By more than a 2-to-1 margin, callers said Towson State should continue its football program, despite a projected athletic department deficit of $250,000 by the end of this school year.
Some 440 callers (68 percent) said Towson should not suspend the program; 207 respondents (32 percent) said it should.
"It's Your Call" represents a sampling of opinions from certain segments of the community, but it is not balanced demographically, as would be done in a scientific public opinion poll.
