A Mass of Christian burial for Dorothy Piquette Macatee, a former Mercy Hospital nurse who was active in charitable endeavors, will be offered at 11 a.m. tomorrow at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, Calvert and Madison Streets.

Mrs. Macatee died Friday at Johns Hopkins Hospital following complications of heart and brain surgery. She was 75.

A graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, she worked in the emergency room at Mercy and as a private duty nurse for a few years before World War II.

Mrs. Macatee, who stopped working after her children were born, was particularly active in charitable causes. Among these, she had been treasurer of the Women's Auxiliary of Mercy Hospital for eight years.

For the last 20 years, the Guilford resident devoted her time to Jesuit causes throughout Maryland.

She is survived by her husband of five decades, J. Edward Macatee Jr., a retired vice president of Maryland National Bank; three daughters, Mary Dot Jones of Owings Mills, M. Katherine Gillis of Lutherville, Anne Macatee of Washington, D.C.; a son, William D. Macatee of San Francisco; a sister, M. Elizabeth Potthast of Arnold; and nine grandchildren.
