Four people were injured early Saturday morning when an unknown gunman fired several shots inside the Meade Village Recreation Center.

The gunman opened a side door to the center on Meade Village Circle at about 12:30 a.m., according to police. After firing at an undetermined number of people attending a dance, he ran away.

Two Prince George's County residents were shot. Alonada Clifford of Suitland was taken to Harbor Hospital Center with a wound to her eye. The 20-year-old was in stable condition there yesterday. Tyrone Frazier, 21, of Forest Hills was hit in the knee and treated by paramedics on the scene.

A 17-year-old Severn girl was treated by paramedics for a cut she received when a bullet grazed her side. A 13-year-old Annapolis girl received minor head injuries when she fell to the floor but refused treatment at the center, police said.

The police said no one could give them a description of the gunman.

County police have identified a 25-year-old Jessup woman who was beaten and left for dead Friday night in Brooklyn.

Dawn Marie Geallis was found about 7:30 a.m. Saturday when an employee of Donaldson Glass at 4700 Belle Grove Road noticed a puddle of blood after opening the building's rear door, the police said.

He followed a trail of blood and other marks into the woods, where he found the woman.

Officers arriving on the scene found Geallis alive but unconscious with several head wounds.

She was in critical condition yesterday at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center at University Hospital in Baltimore.

Police are not certain how long Geallis had been in the woods, but investigators say she had been there overnight.
