Place of worship: Trinity Lutheran in Taneytown Activities/hobbies: Volleyball, aerobics, riding horses, enjoys animals and competitive sports.
Accomplishments: Selected "Firewoman of the Year" for state of Maryland for participation in fire prevention activities, retired after teaching full time from 1956-1986.
Recipient's comments: "In high school, I started playing volleyball, basketball and track in the ninth grade. At Towson, I played varsity field hockey, lacrosse and volleyball and also enjoyed playing intramural sports.
I was really surprised how physically fit the seniors were. It amazed me how skilled the seniors were and how well they performed. I enjoyed the competition and plan to participate next year.".
