Emma Jones Sisk Retired teacher

Services for Emma Jones Sisk, a retired Baltimore County elementary school teacher, will be held at 10 a.m. today at the Leroy M. and Russell C. Witzke Funeral Home, 1630 Edmondson Ave., Catonsville.

Mrs. Sisk, who lived on Thackery Avenue in Catonsville, died Monday at St. Agnes Hospital after a long illness. She was 81.

She retired about 25 years ago after teaching at elementary schools in the county for 37 years.

The former Emma Jones was a native of Millington and a graduate of what is now Salisbury State University. She took courses at Duke University and the Johns Hopkins University.

She belonged to the Catonsville United Methodist Church and several teachers' organizations.

She is survived by her husband, William H. Sisk, a retired Ellicott City grocery store owner.

Other survivors include four sisters, Ethel Jones of Seaford, Del., Anna Martin of Hockessin, Del., Pauline Shivery of Millington and Dorothy Merritt of Silver City, N.M.; and several nieces and nephews.
