ASSAULT ON OFFICER: Northeastern District -- Police arrested a man early yesterday and charged him with assaulting a police officer by striking the patrol car with his car, which had been reported stolen. Police said Sgt. Dale Mealey, 46, set up a roadblock with his police cruiser in the 5200 block of Walther Ave. about 2:30 a.m. yesterday and was inside his car when a car that was being pursued crashed into his. Police said the driver of the car fled but was caught following a foot chase. Police said Mealey suffered serious injuries to his back and neck and was taken to Francis Scott Key Medical Center, where he was listed today in serious condition. Charged with driving a stolen car, assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and multiple traffic charges is Richard Huber, 22, of the 1400 block of Webster St. Police said Huber was in custody at the Eastern District lockup pending a bail hearing today in District Court.

SHOOTING: Western District -- Police reported that Timothy Wright, 20, of the 700 block of W. Mulberry St., was involved in an argument with another man in the 800 block of W. Saratoga St. about 8:15 p.m. yesterday when the other man pulled out a handgun and shot Wright three times at close range. Police said the gunman and three companions fled the scene and that Wright was taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center, where he was treated for gunshot wounds to the left shoulder, left side and left leg. Police said Wright was listed today in serious but stable condition.

SHOOTING: Southwestern District -- Police reported that two men walking in the 3000 block of Westwood Ave. at 8:35 p.m. yesterday were each shot by a gunman for no apparent reason. Police said Orlando Moore, 26, of the 1900 block of E. Belvedere Ave., was taken to the Shock-Trauma Unit in Baltimore, where he was listed in critical condition after being shot in the groin, right hip and right arm. Police said the bullet that hit Moore in the right arm passed through and entered his chest. The second man, Elwood Parker, 25, of the 2700 block of Lawina Road, was shot in the left foot and was treated at Liberty Medical Center.

SHOOTING: Western District -- John Reddick, 26, of the 1200 block of Riggs Ave., reported that he was in the 1100 block of Fremont Ave. shortly before 9 p.m. yesterday when he was approached by two men, one armed with a handgun, who fired at least four shots, hitting him once in the left hip. The bullet pierced his hip and struck him in the hand. Police said Reddick was taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center, where he was listed today in good condition.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Francis Blanchard, of the 2700 block of N. Calvert St., reported that he was walking in the 3000 block of St. Paul St. about 4 a.m. yesterday when he was attacked by two men who pushed him to the pavement and robbed him of his wallet containing a small sum of money. Police said Blanchard suffered a minor head wound but refused treatment at the scene from the crew of a Fire Department ambulance.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 3000 block of Virginia Ave. reported that someone forcibly entered his home by breaking a window and removed a VCR, TV, telephone and stereo equipment. Police said the property was valued at more than $1,300.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Police reported that a 15-year-old resident of the 800 block of Drohomer Place was walking in the 5500 block of Roland Ave. around 4 p.m. yesterday when he was attacked by at least two older males who struck him with their fists and robbed him of a canvas bag containing school books and other items. Police said the property was valued at nearly $300.

SHOOTNG: Northern District -- Antonio Blake, of the 800 block of Belgian Ave., reported that he was walking toward his home around 9 p.m. yesterday when he was shot in the right foot as he passed by several youths who were standing on the corner near Wilsby Road. Police said the youths fled and that Blake was taken to Union Memorial Hospital for treatment. Police said they had no motive for the shooting.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 5200 block of Moravia Road reported that someone broke into her home through a rear window and removed a TV set and a VCR. Police said the property was valued at $900.

ASSAULT/ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police arrested a 29-year-old woman and were holding her at the women's detention center at the Central Police District pending charges that during an incident at her home early yesterday, she stabbed Ronaldo Evans, of the 5600 block of Frankford Ave., in the left thigh with a 12-inch knife.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that property valued at more than $500 was removed from a dwelling in the 1500 block of E. Northern Parkway after someone entered the dwelling through the front door. Police said a TV and VCR were removed.
