Interest in the Civil War has been renewed, thanks in part...

It's your call/Whose Maryland?

October 31, 1990

Interest in the Civil War has been renewed, thanks in part to an acclaimed week-long series recently on PBS and a companion series produced by Maryland Public Television on this border state's role in the war. Our questions have to do with life 125 years after the war's end.

We live south of the Mason-Dixon line, but our state did not join the Confederacy. To your thinking, is Maryland a Southern state or a Northern state?

Is Baltimore a Southern city or Northern city?

XTC To register your opinion, call SUNDIAL, the Baltimore Sun's free directory of telephone information services at 783-1800 (or 268-7736 in Anne Arundel County) today until midnight.

After you hear the greeting, you'll be asked to punch in a four-digit code on your touch-tone phone. Enter 4600 and you'll be connected with "It's Your Call," The Evening Sun's survey on topical issues.

"It's Your Call" represents a sampling of opinions from certain segments of the community, but it is not balanced demographically as would be done in a scientific public opinion poll.

Look for results in Thursday's Evening Sun.
