* OUTLOOK: This is the Capitals' final stop on a five-game road trip, which has seen them split the first four contests. They are coming off Sunday's big 1-0 victory over defending Stanley Cup champion Edmonton. After Mike Liut surrendered nine goals the previous night in Calgary, Don Beaupre stopped 31 shots against the Oilers to earn his second shutout of the season. Beaupre's goals against average is 1.81. The Canucks (6-5) are led by a hot goalie, rookie Troy Gamble, who has one shutout and has allowed just nine goals is 322 minutes (1.68 GAA). The Caps (6-7) return to the Capital Centre Friday night to face Wayne Gretzky and the Los Angeles Kings.
