Edna I. Goodier Retired nurse

Services for Edna Ingram Goodier will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Witzke Funeral Home, 4112 Old Columbia Pike in Ellicott City.

Mrs. Goodier died of cancer yesterday at her Ellicott City home following a short illness. She was 80.

Mrs. Goodier was born in Roanoke Rapids, N.C., the eldest of George and Eva Ingram's four children. She was raised and educated in North Carolina, attended the Roanoke Rapids Hospital Nursing School and graduated as a registered nurse in 1932.

In 1944, she moved to Washington, where she worked as a public health nurse with the District of Columbia government.

The same year, she married Robert C. Goodier, a production controller with the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington. The couple settled in Washington and had three children.

In 1971, Mrs. Goodier retired after 27 years of government service. In 1982, she and her husband retired to Ellicott City.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Grace Dailey of Lima, Peru, and Margaret Chaisson of Burke, Va.; one son, Robert C. Goodier Jr. of Ellicott City; and three grandchildren.

The family has suggested donations to Hospice Services of Howard County, 2875 Bethany Lane, Ellicott City, Md. 21843.
