Theresa Jankowski Homemaker

October 29, 1990

A Mass of Christian Burial for Theresa F. Jankowski, a homemaker who worked in a family-owned interior design business, will be offered at 10 a.m. tomorrow at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 8420 Belair Road, Fullerton.

Mrs. Jankowski, who resided on Rosalie Avenue in Northeast Baltimore, died Saturday at St. Joseph Hospital after a monthlong bout with cancer. She was 58.

Although she was a licensed real estate agent and worked in the interior design business, Mrs. Jankowski's first priority was her family. She was intensely proud of her five children and four grandsons, and often began conversations with a short biography and update of each.

The daughter of immigrants, the former Theresa Frances Lioi was born in Little Italy and educated at St. Leo's School. As a youth she worked in a family-owned confectionery at Pratt and Exeter streets. She was graduated from Seton High School in 1950.

In 1952, she married Joseph M. Jankowski Jr., co-owner of D'Jeanne Interiors Inc., a family business in the 7600 block of Belair Road that was destroyed by fire in 1985.

After establishing her family, Mrs. Jankowski worked at D'Jeanne and later obtained her real estate license. In the summer, she divided her time between her home and a vacation house in Ocean City.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Joseph M. Jankowski III of Perry Hall, and Michael V. and Mark A. Jankowski, both of Baltimore; two daughters, Karen A. Bollinger of Baltimore and Teresa M. Hermann of Lagos, Portugal; and four grandsons, Joseph A. Jankowski and Jordan M. Jankowski, both of Perry Hall; Nicholas David Bollinger of Baltimore and Gareth Hermann of Lagos.

Also surviving are four brothers, Paul Lioi of Orlando, Fla., and Andrew, John and Gerard Lioi, all of Baltimore; and a sister, Catherine Mancuso of Orlando, Fla.
