Virginia Schwartz Giant bakery manager

Services for Virginia Agnes Schwartz, a retired Giant Food bakery manager, will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Stone Chapel United Methodist Church in Pikesville.

Mrs. Schwartz died Friday near Hampstead, when a car she was driving was struck by a train. She was 75.

She was born and raised in Pikesville, and attended Franklin Senior High School.

In 1933, she married Owen McFadden, a cab driver. The couple settled in Hampden and Pimlico and had five children before divorcing after 10 years.

She married William Royston Schwartz, a landscaper, in 1946. They had two children and lived in Owings Mills.

She worked as a waitress and then as a bakery manager at the Giant supermarket in Lutherville for 13 years, retiring in 1980.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Marlene Nolan of Bel Air; five sons, Owen McFadden of Reisterstown, Theodore McFadden of Westminster, Charles McFadden of New Freedom, Pa., William Royston Schwartz Jr. of Washington and G. C. Schwartz II of Eldersburg; a sister, Grace Beck, and a brother, John Bosley, both of Rock Hall; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family suggested that memorial donations be made to the Stone Chapel United Methodist Church.
