J. HARMS PROMOTES HARVEY AND OSBORN

John E. Harms Jr. and Associates Inc., an engineering, planning and surveying firm with offices at 90 Ritchie Highway in Pasadena, has announced new assignments for some key executive and managerial personnel.

Eugene C. Harvey, P.E., senior vice president, will be principal-in-charge of the quality assurance program. In this capacity, Harvey will participate in major design decisions on each project, working to update company design standards and procedures and expand the in-house plan review process.

FOR THE RECORD - A caption was dropped from Sunday's picture on Page 1 of The Anne Arundel County Sun. The picture of Jean Hackmann, visiting her daughter, Barbara Dietrick, was taken at Odenton's Daisy Hair Salon.
Also, two photographs in the Business People section of Monday's paper were misplaced.
The photographs of Eugene C. Harvey and Paul M. Cramer accompanied the wrong stories.

Richard S. Osborn, vice president, has been named director of marketing.

In his new position, Osborn will develop new business, expand the company's area of operation and serve as a liaison with current and potential clients.

PAINEWEBBER ADDS A MORTGAGE OFFICER

Lorel Benoit is the newest member of PaineWebber Mortgage Finance's Severna Park office. As a mortgage officer for the company, she will be servicing the needs of homebuyers in Calvert and St. Mary's counties.

Benoit brings more than 20 years of sales and banking experience to PaineWebber. For the past five years, she has been a top originator of residential mortgages in southern Maryland.

ANNAPOLIS MAN DIRECTS DESIGN TEAMS INC.

Design Teams Inc., an Annapolis-based service company, has recently added procurement services to area business and organizations under new director Paul M. Cramer.

The firm provides services for McCrone Inc. of Annapolis, including cost-saving vendor negotiations, value analysis for the purchase and lease of office equipment and furnishings, computer and telephone systems, vehicles, industrial equipment and parts.

A graduate of the University of Maryland, Cramer holds membership in the Purchasing Management Association. A resident of Annapolis, Cramer is an active volunteer in the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Maryland.

NATIONWIDE DONATES TO RESTORATION FUND

Bruce L. Petersen, regional personnel/public relations manager of Nationwide Insurance Companies and the Nationwide Foundation, recently presented a check of $20,000 as the first installment of $50,000 pledged to the Charles Carroll House of Annapolis Inc.

The money will go to restoring the 18th-century birthplace of Charles Carroll of Carrollton.

TWO MEN PROMOTED AT SEVERN GRAPHICS

Severn Graphics Inc., of 7590 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie, has recently made some staff changes.

Douglas Trent Shaffer has been named account executive for the firm. His former experience is in Custom Lab Printing and Commercial Photography.

Frederick Nuttle has been promoted to sales manager of Severn Graphics.

He began as a commercial artist in 1980 and has been an account executive with the company for six years.
