Six Girls To Compete In County Pageant

Six contestants will vie for the title of Miss Teen Harford County at the 23rd Annual Scholarship Pageant to be sponsored by the Harford County Department of Parks and Recreation at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Havre de Grace High School.

Judging will be based upon appearance, stage presentation, poise and charm, scholastic ability, mental alertness, and sportsmanship. Judging categories include casual wear, talent and evening gown.

Competing for the crown will be Karen Files, 14, a ninth grade student at Havre de Grace High School, who has selected ballet for the talent competition; Karen Romanelli, 16, a junior at Havre de Grace High School, who will play the piano; Janice Baumiller, 16, a senior at C. Milton Wright High School, who will sing; Amy Hamilton, 16, an 11th grade student at Edgewood High School, who will play the piano in the talent competition; Angela Old, 15, a 10th grade student at Havre de Grace High School, who will play the piano; and Lanelle Nolen, 17, a senior at Havre de Grace High School, who will perform magic-mime for her talent.

A variety of entertainment also is scheduled, including performances by the reigning Miss Teen Harford County, Lori Flick; Miss Harford County, Karen Faulkner; Tiffany Walker; Karen Becker, and Kimberlee Suerth.

Advance tickets are now available from any contestant or at the parks and recreation office. Tickets also will be available at the door the evening of the event.
