Blast preview

October 26, 1990|By Sandra McKee

TONIGHT: at Kansas City Comets, 8:35 p.m.

* TOMORROW: vs. St. Louis Storm at the Arena, 7:35 p.m.

* RADIO: WCAO-AM 600 (both games).

* OUTLOOK: The Blast (0-1) and Kansas City (1-1) will have a different look from the two teams that last met in the Eastern Division championship series. Former Blast midfielder Carl Valentine is a Comet and former Comet Dale Mitchell is with the Blast. In addition, Blast All-Star goalkeeper Scott Manning (strained ankle ligament) is not in the lineup. Instead, backup Scoop Stanisic, 1-1 vs K.C. a year ago, will have net duty. Stanisic will be starting until Manning recovers, which could be three weeks. Also out tonight: the Blast's leading scorer. Domenic Mobillio, with a strep throat. He should play tomorrow night in the home opener.
