NHL will not act on Caps' accusation

October 26, 1990|By James H. Jackson

The Washington Capitals said yesterday that the National Hockey League had informed them it would take no action against New Jersey Devils center Laurie Boschman.

The Capitals, who accused Boschman of slashing right wing Dino Ciccarelli in the third period, sent tapes of their Saturday game with the Devils to the NHL. Ciccarelli suffered a broken thumb and will be out six to eight weeks.

"The league felt that the tapes were inconclusive," Lou Corletto, Capitals director of public relations, said.

NHL executive vice president Brian O'Neill would not comment on his ruling.
