United Way far from goal

October 25, 1990

The United Way of Central Maryland announced that midway through its 1990 campaign, which ends Nov. 13, contributions totaled $12.3 million.

The amount pledged thus far represents only 35 percent of the campaign's goal of $34.7 million.

"Contributions are coming in slower than we had hoped," said Henry A. Rosenberg Jr.,campaign chairman.

Rosenberg, chairman and chief executive of Crown Central Petroleum Corp., said companies conducting first-time employee campaigns will make a tangible impact on the final results.
