Pearl S. Koenig

Pearl S. Koenig, who operated a bakery, restaurant and bar in Denton for about 40 years, died Monday of heart failure at the Memorial Hospital in Easton. She was 92.

Services for Mrs. Koenig will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Moore Funeral Home in Denton.

She was born Pearl Statum in Denton and lived there most of her life.

She and her husband, George H. Koenig, started the business, called Koenig's, in the early 1920s. After his death in 1959, she continued to run the business until the early 1960s.

Mrs. Koenig was a member of the Caroline Unit of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Caroline County Chapter of the American ,, Association of Retired Persons and the Grace United Methodist Church in Denton.

She is survived by a grandson, Lewis G. Koenig of Denton; and three granddaughters, Carole Ann Briscoe of Fallston and Catherine K. Spence and Betty Lou Greenly, both of Denton.
