STORE CLERK FOILS ROBBERY ATTEMPT
The robbery of an Edgewood convenience store was thwarted Monday when the clerk refused to hand over the money and began struggling with the robber.
The police said the robber entered Kilgore's Rain or Shine store in the 3100 block of Solomon's Island Road at 8:02 a.m. and demanded money. The robber held his hand in his pocket, telling the clerk he had a gun.

The clerk began struggling with the robber and grabbed his hand out of his pocket and saw that the robber did not have a gun, the police said.
The robber then left the store.
He was described by police as a black male with a medium build about 5 feet 8 inches tall and wearing green army-type jackets and brown work boots.
