Back surgery won't sideline Buckeyes' Cooper

October 24, 1990

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Ohio State football coach John Cooper still plans to direct his team against Minnesota on Saturday despite being hobbled by back surgery.

Cooper underwent surgery Sunday to repair a ruptured spinal disk.

Speaking on the Big Ten Conference teleconference yesterday, the third-year coach of the Buckeyes said he expected to be released from University Hospital today.

"There won't be any changes at all," he said.
