County Council Election '90

October 23, 1990

Charles B. Anderson, a former county executive, seeks a political comeback in District A. We have had our vocal disagreements with him in the past but feel his experience is needed on the council. His Republican opponent is Susan B. Heselton, a watchful observer of council meetings.

In District B, Jeffries Webster, a retired IBM employee, is challenging the incumbent Republican, Joanne S. Parrott. On balance, Ms. Parrott deserves re-election, despite her lack of good judgment in the Windsor Mall zoning controversy.

Theresa M. Pierno is unopposed in District C. In District D, our choice is Barry Glassman, an insurance supervisor. Robert Hooper, the Democratic incumbent, deserves to be defeated. Many of his actions may have benefited his trash hauling business but were hardly in the public interest.

In District E, we reluctantly favor the Democratic incumbent, G. Edward Fielder, over Robert S. Wagner. Both represent farming interests. In District F, the incumbent Philip J. Barker is running unopposed.
