CARRIE A. SPRENKLE, Operator, 51 Funeral services were held for Arnold resident Carrie Ann Sprenkle last week at at Barranco Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sprenkle, 51, died of lung cancer Oct. 16 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

The former Carrie Ann Roth lived in Indian Hills in Arnold until 1969 and moved to the Mago Vista area.

She worked as a telephone operator at Westinghouse at Baltimore-Washington International Airport until her illness.

Interests included her family and cats.

She is survived by two daughters, Diane Franton of Arnold and Wendy Norris of Pasadena; four brothers, Robert Roth of Lanham, Donald Roth of College Park, John Roth of Laurel, and Al Roth of Berwyn Heights; and two grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

LEILA T. JONES, Store worker, 89 Funeral services were held for Mayo resident Leila Tucker Jones on Sunday, Oct. 21, in Mayo United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Jones, 89, died of cancer Oct. 16 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

She and her husband took over and operated Mothers' General Store and Post Office in Parole at West Street and Old Solomons Island Road through the 1940s and 1950s. She also worked on part of the family farm that is the location of the Capital newspaper.

Mrs. Jones was a member of Mayo United Methodist Church and a former member of the Rebecka Lodge of Annapolis and the Old Edwards Chapel Methodist Church at Riva Road and West Street.

Interests included flower gardening.

She was the widow of W. Stanley Jones, who died in 1966.

Surviving her are a daughter, Leila M. Youngren of Mayo, and two grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were by Hardesty Funeral Home.

KENNETH BEATON SR., Steam fitter, 53

Funeral services were held for Shady Side resident Kenneth S. Beaton Sr. on Saturday, Oct. 20, at Hardesty Funeral Home.

Mr. Beaton, 53, died of a heart attack Oct. 16 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

He retired in 1978 after 25 years as a steam fitter with Local No. 602 in Washington.

Mr. Beaton was a member of Stallings-Williams American Legion Post No.

206, Deale Lodge No. 2528 and Deale Moose Lodge No. 2279.

He is survived by his wife, Joan McLamb Beaton; a son, Michael S.

Beaton; and two sisters, Judi Ruby and Joan A. Peake of Temple Hills.

His son, Kenneth S. Beaton Jr. died before him.

Memorial contributions may be made to the 7th District Rescue Squad, Shady Side.
