Marylanders win five races in Va.

THE PLAINS, Va. -- Maryland horses, trainers and riders too home the cash by winning five of the seven events in the International Gold Cup races and receiving awards for leading trainers and riders yesterday.

Joe's O.K. won the $25,000 Timber Steeplechase Stakes, the International Gold Cup, before 16,000. Trained by Alicia Murphy and ridden by John Bosley, he won by two lengths over Glyn, Virginia's top timber horse. Tom Miller, with Anne Moran up, was third.

Jack Fisher won the cash award for leading trainer and rider. He won the third race with Push and Pull, and the fifth with Woody Boy Would. Charles Fenwick was the second-leading trainer, and Victoria Schlessinger the second-leading rider.
