Services for Kathryn Montgomery, a Baltimore native and former welfare caseworker, will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at McCrery Memorial Chapel, Kirkwood Highway and Duncan Road in Wilmington, Del.
Mrs. Montgomery, who was known as Betty, died Wednesday of cancer at her home in Wilmington. She was 53.
A graduate of Eastern High School in Baltimore and Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pa., she was a caseworker in Baltimore for what was then the Department of Public Welfare -- now the Department of Human Resources -- before moving to Delaware in 1963.
In 1979 Mrs. Montgomery was appointed one of the original members of Delaware's Foster Care Review Board. She served for 10 years as a member of its executive council and was its first training-committee chairman.
