Frederick wins in OT, 19-13, over Westminster

WESTMINSTER -- Quarterback John Mesher scored on the second play of overtime and visiting Frederick (5-2, 2-1) handed No. 19 Westminster (4-3, 2-1) its first loss in the Central Maryland Conference. Linganore leads the conference.

The Cadets got the ball first in overtime, and Bobby Ambush carried to the 1 on the first play. Mesher's run on the next play gave Frederick a 19-13 lead.

Westminster got the ball to the 7 on a run by Mike Hastings but lost 2 yards on the next play, a run by Mike Rodgers. Quarterback Marty Brennan got the ball to the 1 on a bootleg on third down, but was stopped for no gain on fourth.
