M.Maurice Bailey Water technician

Services for M. Maurice Bailey, a Baltimore water technician, will be held at 11:30 a.m. today at the Morning Star Baptist Church, 1063 W. Fayette St.

Mr. Bailey, who was 27 and lived on Dartmouth Glen Way, drowned Oct. 13 in a hotel swimming pool in Nassau in the Bahamas while on a vacation trip.

He worked for nine years at the Montebello Filtration Plant on Hillen Road.

Born in Baltimore and a graduate of Woodlawn Senior High School, he served briefly in the U.S. Air Force before he began working for the city.

He is survived by his wife, the former Deborah K. Swift; his mother, Brenda A. Bailey of Baltimore; his father, Melvin S. Bailey of Baltimore; three grandparents, Louise Braithwaite of Lutherville, Henry Lewis of Baltimore and Hazel Bailey of Baltimore; and two brothers, Michael and Daryl Bailey, and a sister, Camela Bailey, all of Baltimore.
