Services for Larry K. Simmons, an assistant inspector general with the Department of Health and Human Services, will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Baltimore First Church of the Nazarene, 8801 Rogers Ave., Ellicott City.
Mr. Simmons, who was 50, died Tuesday at his home on Font Hill Drive in Ellicott City.
He had been with the department for 22 years, most recently overseeing audits for the Health Care Financing Administration. His many awards included a 1987 Presidential Executive Award.
Earlier, he worked for the Department of Defense. He served in the U.S. Army during the early 1960s.
Born in Havre de Grace, he was a graduate of the Havre de Grace High School and the University of Maryland.
