Gas Station Robbed Friday Afternoon

A gunman robbed Ray's Crown gas station in Glen Burnie Friday, county police reported.

The police said the robber stood in the doorway of the station in the 200 block of Aquahart Road at about 2:50 p.m. and told the clerk to give him all the money.

The clerk put the money in a plastic bag the robber was holding, and the gunman left the station with about $309 in cash.

He got into a dark blue van driven by another man, the police said.

The robber was described as white, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. He was wearing a tan windbreaker and blue jeans.


A 25-year-old Glen Burnie woman was raped Saturday in Glen Burnie, county police said.

The police said the woman was using the pay phone at the corner of Oakwood and Aquahart roads when a man came up behind her and put a knife to her back.

He forced her behind the movie theater near Harundale Mall and raped her, the police said.

The rapist was described as a black man about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 145 pounds. He was wearing a tan and white shirt with tan pants.


Eight people have been charged with possession of crack-cocaine after police posed as drug dealers outside several stores in south county.

The police said they acted after receiving several complaints about drug activities from businesses in the Wayson's Corner area, at the intersection of Routes 4 and 408.

Those arrested Friday night were identified as: Granville Leroy Evans, 30, of the 5200 block Sands Road, Lothian; Daniel Crossley Erianne, 33, of the 3700 block of S. George Mason Drive, Falls Church, Va.; Ellen Smith, 29, of the 1100 block Matboro Road, Lothian; Donald Ray Catterton, 29, of the 2500 block Chaney Road, Dunkirk; Timothy Scott Kinnaman, 27, of the 4110 block of Canyon View Drive, Upper Marlboro; Raymond Maury Hardy, 26, 300 block Burman Road, Frederick; Charles Christopher Chopic, 25, of the 6500 block Chew Road, Upper Marlboro; and Dennis Scanley Moulden, 37, of the first block Bens Drive, Annapolis.


County police are looking for the gunman who robbed Brown's Oriental Grocery Store in Laurel Saturday.

The police said a man entered the store in the 3500 block of Fort Meade Road at about 7 p.m. and browsed.

The man then went up to the counter, took out a gun and demanded money.

The clerk complied and the robber left the store, police said.

The police described the suspect as a black male, about 18 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall and wearing dark clothing.


A Blue Star Cab Co. driver was robbed early Friday morning by a woman who offered him a sex act in exchange for $10, county police reported.

The police said the incident began when the 20-year-old driver picked up a woman at about 4:02 a.m.

According to the police report, the driver first told officers that the woman had hit him over the head and stole about $70 from him.

After paramedics arrived and examined him, officers did not believe that the driver had been injured.

The driver then told police that he met a woman on Forest Drive near Newtown Road in Annapolis, and she offered him the sex act for $10.

The driver took off his jacket during sex, the police report said, and after the woman left, he noticed all his money was gone.
