McCrone Inc.'s Richard A. Rice, chief of public works, has been named chairman of the Chesapeake section of the American Water Works Association.
The organization promotes safe public water through education, research and standards development.
A graduate of the civil engineering program at the University of Maryland, College Park, Rice has more than 24 years of civil engineering and public works service experience.
Among his duties as chairman elect of the local AWWA chapter, Rice will direct the technical program committee for the 1991 Chesapeake Section AWWA conference. He is slated to become chairman of the AWWA Chesapeake Section at that conference in Annapolis in August.
An Annapolis resident, Rice also holds membership in the American Society of Civil Engineers.
