A 16-year-old youth was killed and two others were seriously injured in Howard County late Friday when their car ran a red light on U.S. 29 and was struck by another car, county police said.

The accident occurred at 10:40 p.m. at the intersection with Owen Brown Road.

The teen-agers' car was traveling southbound on U.S. 29 and was hit on the passenger side by a car headed east on Owen Brown Road.

Killed was Ronald Chase Jr. of Ellicott City, who died of his injuries at Howard County General Hospital.

The two injured youths, both 16, were taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where they were both in fair and stable condition yesterday.

They were identified as Ben Abramovitz of the 5500 block Mystic Court, Columbia, and Terence Jensen of the 9500 block Longlook Lane, Columbia.

Police said Terence Jensen was driving at the time of the accident. An investigation of the accident is continuing, a police spokesman said.

The car that hit them was driven by Russell Bray of the 100 block of Hilltop Road in Jessup. Police said Mr. Bray was not hurt.

A 22-year-old man was killed an hour and a half later when his Isuzu ran off the road in Pocomoke City and overturned, state police said.

The accident occurred on Follow Ditch Road just after midnight.

Aldo J. Monzeglio, 22, of Westover was apparently driving the Isuzu at high speed when it turned over, police said.

He was declared dead at the scene.

Police said Mr. Monzeglio was not wearing a seat belt.
