Wanted: Holiday Tales

IT'S TIME FOR THE SUN MAGAZINE'S third annual Holiday Short Fiction Contest, the winners to be published in our Sunday, Dec. 23, issue.

Three prizes will be awarded in the adult category. First prize will be $350; second prize, $250; and third prize, $150. There will also be one for children under 14 ($50).

Here are the rules:

Stories must have a holiday theme: Christmas, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa.

Adult entries can be no longer than 1,500 words; children's, no longer than 750 words.

Entries must be in our hands by 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2. No submissions will be accepted after that.

Manuscripts must be original (never before published), typed and double-spaced.

Only one story per person can be entered.

Children must put their age on story.

Include your name, address and daytime phone number.

The winners will be notified by Nov. 30.

The stories will not be returned nor will receipt be acknowledged.

Baltimore Sun employees are not eligible to enter.
