The Baltimore Orioles placed pitcher Dorn Taylor on waivers yesterday for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release.
Taylor, 32, acquired from the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sept. 5 to complete the trade for pitcher Jay Tibbs, appeared in four games for the Orioles, with no decisions and a 2.45 ERA.
The Orioles also moved pitchers Mark Williamson and Brian DuBois from the disabled list onto the major-league roster. Right-hander Williamson (8-2, 2.21 ERA in 49 games) suffered a broken right ring finger Aug. 18.
DuBois, reclaimed by the Orioles Aug. 29 from the Detroit Tigers, the team he was traded to for KeithMoreland in 1989, was found to need ligament surgery on his left elbow after arriving in Baltimore.
The Orioles have 39 players on their winter roster.
