Melvin R. Taylor Jr., a maintenance worker at Baltimore parks, died Friday at University Hospital after a blood vessel burst. He was 29 and lived on Oswego Avenue.
Services for Mr. Taylor were being held tonight at Brown's Memorial Baptist Church, 3215 W. Belvedere Ave.
Employed by the Baltimore Department of Recreation and Parks for a year and a half, he earlier had worked more than five years at Bud Schmidt Buick, reconditioning used cars.
He is survived by two sons, Brandon and Dante Taylor; two daughters, Sharan and Miranda Taylor; his parents, Lois Jane and Melvin R. Taylor Sr.; a brother, Bryant Taylor; and five sisters, Denise, Deborah, Wanda and Joyce Taylor, and Tisha Stokes. All are of Baltimore.
