Melvin R. Taylor Jr. City parks worker

Services for Melvin R. Taylor Jr., a maintenance worker at Baltimore parks, will be held at 7 p.m. today at Brown's Memorial Baptist Church,

3215 W. Belvedere Ave.

Mr. Taylor, who was 29 and lived on Oswego Avenue, died Friday at University Hospital after a blood vessel burst.

Employed by the Baltimore Department of Parks and Recreation for a year and a half, he earlier had worked more than five years at Bud Schmidt Buick, reconditioning used cars.

Born in Baltimore, he was a 1979 graduate of Northwestern High School.

He is survived by two sons, Brandon and Dante Taylor; two daughters, Sharan and Miranda Taylor; his parents, Lois Jane and Melvin R. Taylor Sr.; a brother, Bryant Taylor; and five sisters, Denise, Deborah, Wanda and Joyce Taylor, and Tisha Stokes. All are of Baltimore.
