Objets D'Art to show African works Sunday

October 11, 1990

The Objets D'Art art gallery has helped educate Baltimoreans about African art by exhibiting works ranging from Zulu baskets to Ndebele beadwork. Although owners Hazel Barrett and Beverly Carter left their Eutaw Street location last month, they continue to present special shows and organize bus tours to out-of-state museums specializing in both the work of African-Americans and African art.

Objets D'Art will present a show of African tribal and contemporary art from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at The Forum, 4210 Primrose Ave. The exhibition will feature work by members of the Ndebele, Zulu, Swazi, Lesotho and Xhosa tribes. For additional information, call 669-2881.
