It's your call

October 11, 1990

You heard it here first: "The Simpsons" season premiere tonight on the Fox network (Channel 45) will wallop "The Cosby Show" over on NBC (Channel 2) in the ratings department. At least that's what callers to The Evening Sun's SUNDIAL seem to suggest.

Our "It's Your Call" question yesterday asked readers what they were going to watch tonight on TV at 8 p.m., "The Cosby Show," "The Simpsons" or American League baseball playoffs if a fifth game was necessary between the Boston Red Sox and the Oakland A's (the A's swept the series last night, however, eliminating that possibility).

A total of 747 people responded, and better than half that number -- 436 -- will be tuning in to "The Simpsons." Only 76 callers said they would watch "The Cosby Show"; slightly fewer -- 71 people -- would have watched baseball. And 164 callers said they would prefer to watch a different program.
