Readers: TV should let baseball be

It's your call

October 10, 1990

Television needs to tune out of baseball's postseason scheduling process, said 71 percent of the respondents to "It's Your Call," The Evening Sun's call-in telephone survey. Some 194 of the 273 callers to SUNDIAL said TV does not have the right to dictate game times in light of CBS's afternoon and non-weekend playoff schedule this year.

Sixty percent of the callers (164) thought non-weekend games should be played at night and those respondents criticizing the CBS announcing team of Dick Stockton and Jim Kaat also enjoyed a 60 to 40 percent majority.

"It's Your Call" represents a sampling of opinions from certain segments of the community, but it is not balanced demographically, as would be done in a scientific public opinion poll.
