Florence K. McCubbin

Florence K. McCubbin, a bookkeeper and tax preparer who was a former head of the state organization of the Order of the Eastern Star, died of cancer Sunday at Union Memorial Hospital.

Services for Mrs. McCubbin, who was 67 and lived on Foster Avenue in Parkville, were being held today at the Ruck Towson funeral establishment, 1050 York Road.

A bookkeeper for the Friendly Ice Cream Shop in Dundalk for about five years, she also had prepared tax returns with H & R Block for many years.

The former Florence Keyes was a native of Baltimore and a graduate of what is now the Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School.

Her husband, Hudson R. McCubbin, a postal clerk, died in 1981.

In addition to serving as grand matron of the Grand Chapter of Maryland, she was a former matron of the Parkville chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. McCubbin is survived by a daughter, Elaine F. Ryan of Bel Air; a son, Robert R. McCubbin of White Hall; four brothers, Wesley B. Keyes and Joseph Keyes, both of Arbutus, Earl R. Keyes of Baltimore and Charles E. Keyes of Dundalk; and three grandchildren.
