Body in Snow Hill was Bowie man

October 10, 1990

State police identified a body found near a state park in Snow Hill Saturday as that of Brian Witkowski, a 24-year-old Bowie man listed as missing since April 28.

A hunter found the badly decomposed body at 8 a.m. Saturday while walking in the woods near U.S. 113, just south of Shad Landing State Park in Worcester County.

State police identified the body yesterday. They said Mr. Witkowski was found with a single gunshot wound to the chest. The medical examiner's office ruled that the wound was self-inflicted.

The search for Mr. Witkowski had intensified after police found his car Sept. 18 off Blades Road near the park.
