GAS LEAK CLOSES ROAD
FINKSBURG -- A gas leak on Route 140 in front of the Finksburg Plaza tied up traffic for more than an hour around 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Reese, Gamber, Reisterstown and Glyndon volunteer fire companies responded to the scene and clamped the line until workers from Baltimore Gas and Electric could fix the leak.
Reese Capt. Donald Love said the gas line was ruptured by construction workers digging with a backhoe at the site.
State police in Westminster shut down the eastbound lanes of Route 140 while the rupture was fixed.
