Bloomfield Bids Opened

October 10, 1990

SYKESVILLE - The Town Council opened three bids Monday for purchase of historic Bloomfield Manor.

The town wants to sell the century-old home and its 2.35 acres on Obrecht Road, after it was given to the town last year by developer Lowell R. Glazer.

The highest bid -- $62,500 -- came from JDA Limited Partnership and Maryland Limited Partnership. Construction Associates Inc. of Randallstown, Baltimore County, bid $25,000.

The third bid, from Mary Mercer Grough and Carol L. Mercer, was for $8,100.

The council decided to postpone awarding the bid until its Oct. 22 meeting. The property was appraised at $186,917, said Town Manager James L.

Schumacher.
