Boys Oakland Mills' Korey Singleton ran for nearly 300 yards for a third straight week in his football team's 41-0 win over Centennial on Saturday to earn The Sun's Player of the Week honor for a second straight week. Singleton, a 6-foot, 195-pound senior, rushed for 287 yards and five touchdowns on 29 carries. He has run for 829 yards and 13 TDs in the past three weeks.


Patapsco soccer player Linda Bauer led her team to two victories last week to earn The Sun's Player of the Week honor. On Monday, she had five goals and three assists as Patapsco beat Sparrows Point, 11-0. On Wednesday, the senior all-county pick from last year had six goals and one assist as Patapsco beat Owings Mills, 13-0.
