Ellis B. Myers Read Drug executive

Graveside services for Ellis B. Myers, retired vice president and general manager of the old Read Drug and Chemical Co., will be held at noon today at the Beth Tfiloh Congregation Cemetery, 5800 Windsor Mill Road.

Mr. Myers, who was 81, died Sunday after a heart attack at his home on Anton Farms Road in Pikesville.

He retired in 1968 after 36 years with the drug store chain. He also had served as president of both the H. S. Benedict Co. in New York, a buying service for drug store chains, and the National Association of Chain Drug Stores.

The Baltimore native was a graduate of City College and, in of the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.

He is survived by two sons, Dr. Allen Myers of Philadelphia and Stanley Myers of Ellicott City; four brothers, Bernard Myers of Baltimore and Charles, Irvin and Morton Myers, all of Pikesville; and three grandchildren.
