John C. Jubb Sr. Steel worker

Services for John C. "Jubbie" Jubb Sr., a retired steel worker and lifelong resident of East Baltimore, will be held at 9 a.m. today at the Joseph N. Zannino Jr. Funeral Home, 263 S. Conkling St.

Mr. Jubb, who was 73, died Saturday of a respiratory illness.

He was a graduate of the parochial school of St. Brigid's Roman Catholic Church in East Baltimore, where he had served as an altar boy.

He went to work in 1946 for the Bethlehem Steel Corp. in Sparrows Point, remaining there until his retirement nine years ago.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gertrude I. Jubb; two daughters, Gertrude R. Caputo and Mary R. Schultz, both of Highlandtown; five sons, John C. Jubb Jr. of Dundalk, Thomas W. Jubb Sr. of Millersville, Edward M. Jubb and Alan M. Jubb, both of Highlandtown, and Bernard M. Jubb of Bel Air; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by three sisters, Julia Weatherstine, Rose Wise and Frieda Hass, all of Baltimore.
