Baltimore City

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Perrie Cook, 29, of the 5900 block of Radecke Ave., reported that during an incident near her home early yesterday, she was attacked by a man who robbed her of her purse. Police said that during the incident, the man held a knife to the woman's throat and threatened to injure her if she didn't give up her property. Police said the man escaped with cash and property, including a portable radio, all valued at nearly $100.

ARREST: Northern District -- Police investigating an attempted arson of a house in the 900 block of E. 41st St. about 5 a.m. yesterday arrested a 22-year-old man and charged him with the crime. Alfreda Jackson, the occupant of the house, told police she smelled gasoline and called the fire department. Firefighters told police that someone poured gasoline on the woman's porch in an attempt to start a fire. After talking to Jackson, police learned that a man she knows had argued with her earlier and also threatened her. Later, police arrested Matthew Davis, of the 1000 block of Argyle Ave., and charged him with attempted arson and assault by threat. Police said Davis was being held today at the district lockup in lieu of $150,000 bail.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- William Robertson, of the 1200 block of Winston Ave., reported that he was in the 1600 block of Havenwood Road over the weekend when he was stopped by a man armed with an unknown caliber handgun who robbed him of his jewelry valued at more than $600.

STABBING: Northeastern District -- Police reported that Gerald Medley, of the 2700 block of Harford Road, was listed today in serious condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital after he was stabbed in the back with a large knife during an incident at his home over the weekend. Police said a woman was arrested shortly after the stabbing and is being held at the women's detention center at the Central District pending aggravated assault charges. Police said a 12-inch knife believed used in the stabbing was recovered.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Employees of People's Choice Vending in the 6500 block of Landay Ave. reported that someone entered the building with a key and removed more than $300 in cash and coins.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- James Eckman, of the 4600 block of Bowleys Lane, reported that someone entered his property yesterday and removed his multi-speed bike. Police said the bike was valued at more than $400.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- James Tarnowski, of the 1300 block of Crofton Road, reported that while his 1987 Isuzu Amigo was parked near his home over the weekend, someone cut the vinyl top, reached inside and removed a bowling ball, bowling shoes and several cassette tapes. Tarnowski told police the property was valued at $200.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police reported a 17-year-old resident of the 5200 block of Darien Road was in the 5600 block of Sinclair Lane yesterday evening when he was accosted by two men, one armed with an unknown caliber handgun, who robbed him of his denim jacket and the multi-speed bike he was riding. Police said the property had a value of nearly $900.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police were seeking two men, one armed with a small handgun, who robbed two teen-age girls of their jewelry in the 5600 block of Frankford Ave. yesterday. Police said both victims are residents of the 5400 block of Sarril Road and that the youngest, 13, was robbed of two gold earrings. The value of her earrings was not known. Police said the other girl, 14, was robbed of a pair of gold earrings and a gold necklace and that the jewelry was valued at more than $250.

SHOOTING: Western District -- Edward Williams, 25, of the 1300 block of Presstman St., reported to police that while he was standing on the corner of Gold and Brunt streets around 9:30 p.m. yesterday, he was approached by a man armed with a semi-automatic handgun who fired several shots at him, hitting him in the right arm, left leg and left side. Police said Williams was found a short time later by the crew of a fire department ambulance. Police said Williams was listed in critical but stable condition today at University of Maryland Medical Center.

ASSAULT: Western District -- Police were seeking a 28-year-old man who sexually assaulted a woman in her Mount Street home. The woman reported that the man, who is known to her, attempted to undress her and then fondled her until she resisted and ordered him to stop. Police said the woman was shaken by the incident but not injured. Police said a warrant was expected to be issued for the man's arrest.
