Dorothy T. Smith, who practiced nursing at Union Memorial Hospital in the 1920s and 1930s and was active in volunteer work, died yesterday at the hospital of complications from a broken hip. She was 86.
Private services were planned for Mrs. Smith, who lived on University Parkway.
The former Dorothy Truitt was a native of Salisbury who attended the Southern Seminary Junior College in Buena Vista, Va., before graduating from the nursing school at Baltimore's University Hospital.
