Restroom baby ruled stillborn

October 05, 1990

A baby born in the restroom of the Marriott Inner Harbor Hotel last month was stillborn, the state medical examiner's office has ruled.

The full-term baby boy never took a breath, said chief investigator Carl Flimke.

The baby was born Sept. 19 to a 34-year-old woman who entered the hotel at Pratt and Eutaw streets about 7 a.m. and went into the restroom on the first floor.

A cleaning supervisor found the woman bleeding in the restroom and the newborn infant dead in the toilet and called paramedics.
