Skipjacks edge Bears, 5-4

HERSHEY, Pa. -- Harry Mews scored what proved to be the game-winning goal at 19 minutes, 9 seconds of the third period, as the Baltimore Skipjacks slipped past the Hershey Bears, 5-4, last night in an American Hockey League preseason game.

Baltimore led, 4-3, on goals by Victor Gervais, Steve Seftel, JohPurves and Todd Hlushko when Mews scored. Hershey pulled within one on Len Barrie's second goal of game at 19:59.

The Skipjacks' Reggie Savage had three assists.

The two teams will meet to open the regular season Saturday night in Hershey.
