Cosby to speak at College Park

Entertainer Bill Cosby is to give the keynote address Friday at a College Park fund-raiser for the creation of the John B. Slaughter Endowment in Science, Technology and the Black Community.

The endowment is to fund four undergraduates in the Francis Scott Key President's Scholars program as well as pay for a distinguished-lecturers series. A goal of $250,000 has been set for the fund.

Slaughter was chancellor of the University of Maryland College Park and resigned in 1988. He now is president of Occidental College in Los Angeles.
