Riders Take Top Honors

HIGHLAND - Carroll County riders captured most of the top honors at the 11th annual Maryland 4-H Dressage Show and Combined Test Sept. 9 at the new Schooley Mill Park equestrian facility in Howard County.

County winners were:

* Gabe Zepp, 15, of Shipley, and Golden Dream, his quarter horse crossbred gelding, took a silver trophy for championship honors in senior training level and first-level dressage. The pair earned a rosette as reserve champions on their first-level combined test score in dressage and stadium jumping.

* Robin Wagner, 16, of Hampstead, and Centabblo, her thoroughbred gelding, won a silver championship trophy for their first-level combined test score and a rosette as reserve champions in first-level dressage.

* Alicia Wells, 14, of Sykesville, and Special Edition, her crossbred gelding pony, won championships in both junior training level dressage and combined test score.

* Kristen Lewis, 13, of Fountain Valley, and her crossbred pony, Iced Tea, took reserve champion honors in both categories.

* Beth Bryant, 14, of Pleasant Valley, and The Sure Thing, her crossbred gelding, captured championship honors in senior training level combined test score and the reserve champion rosette in senior training level dressage.

* Becky Adkins, 16, of Westminster, and Easington, her thoroughbred gelding, earned the reserve champion rosette for their senior training level combined test score.
