Janet K. Collins Social Security worker

Graveside services for Janet Katenkamp Collins, a retired employee of the Social Security Administration, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Lorraine Park Cemetery and Mausoleum, 5608 Dogwood Road in Woodlawn.

Mrs. Collins died Thursday of cancer at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, S.C. She was 67 and had lived in Leesville, S.C., for the past 12 years.

Born in Baltimore, she attended Friends School.

Mrs. Collins worked at Social Security for four decades and retired in 1978 as chief of the travel unit.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Batesburg, S.C.

Her husband, Joseph C. Collins, died in 1970.

Mrs. Collins is survived by a sister, Virginia Hill of Leesville; two nieces, two grandnieces and two grandnephews.

The family suggested memorial contributions to Faith Lutheran Church, 113 Oak St., Batesburg, S.C. 29006, or to the American Cancer Society.
